13 DMLightning Spell: Sacrifice 2 cards from hand to Attack long range (2-3) to the right! Offense only!

DM: Damage Bonus only! Can only be used for attacking!

DF: Defensive Bonus only! Can only be used for protection! Defence, as in all cases, do not require actions.

DM/DF: Can be used for both attack damage defensive protection!

N/A: Not applicable. This card has no damage or defence capability.

Added Notes: Attacks need to be greater than the opponents to win. A tie is a draw and neither win nor lose.

Magic Items remain on characters until the character is killed or the item itself is destroyed. Magic Spells, once used, are then discarded. They can only be used once, unless stated otherwise by the Item or Spell.

An enemy can be attacked if their natural defense is less but have Magical Spells (not Magic Items since they remain on the character unless destroyed by actions or attacks) that increase it to greater than the attacks. In this case, the Spell must be used. Both survive the battle but the Spell is used and placed in the Discard pile.

In this example, Morwyn is part of Jack O’ the Green’s forces, as the Jack symbol shows in the middle right of the card. She has an attack and defense of 7, as shown in the upper left corner. The direction arrow points right, meaning she can only attack the enemy on her right. It also takes 2 Actions for her to attack as shown by the two Action symbols to the left of the direction arrow. As well, she is armed with a bow and can only attack the enemy who is 2-3 placements away, and not the enemy directly next to her. Direction arrows apply only to attacks and not defense. If she is attacked from her left or right her defense is still 7.

In this example, a Crimson-Back Shadowwolf is part of Graidon’s forces, as the Graidon symbol shows in the middle right of the card. It has an attack and defense of 9, as shown in the upper left corner. The direction arrow points right, meaning it can only attack the enemy on its right. It also takes 2 Actions for it to attack as shown by the two Action symbols to the left of the direction arrow. Direction arrows apply only to attacks and not defense. If it is attacked from the left or right its defense is still 9.

This is an example of a “Magic Item.” The Sceptre of Aneurin. It must be placed on a character card, good or bad. As the direction arrow indicates it can only be used against an enemy to the left and requires 1 Action and 2 discards from the user’s hand to use. It does 11 damage and has an 11 defence as indicated in the upper left corner. It also can only be used against an enemy 2-3 placements away and not against an enemy directly next to the user. If paired with a character that doesn’t have a medium or long range ability, it still does the damage of the character and sceptre combined. As a defence it can only defend against a 2-3 range attack and not short range attacks. Defence, as in all cases, do not require actions.

This is an example of a “Magic Spell.” Shield of Elemental Magic. It must be used by a character card, good or bad. The Direction Arrows indicate it can be used in both directions at the same time (if desired), dividing up the protection points as the user sees fit. The user must also discard 1 card from their hand to use it. As a Magic Spell, unlike the Magic Item, it can only be used once (unless indicated otherwise on the card) and then discarded.

If the Direction Arrows were split, like with the Grimhold card, then the player can only attack or defend from one direction at a time.

There are 2 Magic Spell cards, “Spell of Transformation” and “Raising a Wraith Warrior,” in which you can use Tokens, and 1 Magic Item card, “The Cauldron of Life,” that can use a counter or a 4-sided dice to keep track of its use. You can use these Tokens we have provided below. The 4 with Jack O’the Green, 4 with Graidon, and the 1 Wraith Warrior. When these spell cards are played you can apply these Tokens as instructed on the card.
