My Screenwriting Work:

I received my first professional screenwriting credit for the small budget horror film, “Kingdom Come, produced by Matchbox Pictures. I added to the script written by Greg Sager and Geoff Hart. Shot in and around Southwestern Ontario. It was a fun project to add a little humour to some of the dialogue of the characters.

The first movie I ever worked on was called “Devil Seed. It was another low budget horror film shot entirely (if I recall correctly) in London, Ontario. Great cast and crew! I received an “On-Set Writer” credit for a scene in which I wrote the dialogue for a supporting character. If you’ve seen it, it’s easy to remember: A classroom scene where the teacher is talking about “Robinson Crusoe.” All of that dialogue was mine. I remember the Director/Writer coming to me saying he needed more words for the teacher to have and he couldn’t come up with anything or didn’t have the time. Glad he delegated that because I remember it well.

The first project I ever did was in 2003 with Longshot Pictures and Pyre Productions. It was a documentary that I Directed and Wrote called “The Canadian Comic Book Connection!” We delved into a lot of the past and present connections ‘Canadians’ have in the world of comic books, whether it’s making them or as fictional characters within them! You can watch it below or find it on YouTube!

Here are a couple behind-the-scenes pic’s with the crew and host of the documentary. It was shot in London and Toronto!

Over my many years writing screenplays, I’ve explored a broad range of genres. From Horror, Fantasy, and Science Fiction to Rom-Com, Christmas, Action-Adventure and more. There’s always something I love is the stories I write, whether it’s the themes, the characters, the story concept or something even more intrinsic. It’s never easy to write a script but when I do it’s because I’ve found something I’m passionate over and I need to write about it. That’s the joy of writing for me.

Here are four examples of scripts I’ve written and hope to one day see produced. A horror, a sci-fi, a superhero, and a fantasy! The last being an adaptation of our graphic novel, “The Sorcerer’s Children: The Weary Curse.”

Logline: When a rare diamond in a museum is targeted by a group of thieves, a supernatural security system threatens any chance of success … or escape!
Log Line: Six capsules with six mysterious strangers will either save or destroy the world. It’s up to three agents and two teenagers to learn the truth … before it’s too late!
Logline: A police detective gains enhanced abilities from an ancient god in order to fight a global terrorist organization and its genetically
 engineered creatures.
Logline  For six hundred years an evil sorcerer has been on a quest for power . . . now only four young strangers are all that stand in his way!

My Published Work:

“Realms of Fantasy” magazine was a beautiful fantasy publication. I did an interview with Greg and Tim Hildebrandt for them. But before it made it to print, Tim, unfortunately, passed away. Two legendary fantasy artists that I’ve admired since childhood. It was a thrill to interview them!

For “Parsec” magazine, a small Canadian publication, hired me on as a corespondent. I was watching and enjoying the TV version of “BeastMaster” when I pitched the editor of interviewing the cast. I interviewed Daniel Goddard, Jackson Raine, Dylan Bierk, Marjean Holden and Monika Schnarre. Only the first three interviews were published before the magazine folded.

This was a dream interview for me. Donald P. Bellisario had created or co-created several TV shows that I loved. Magnum P. I., Quantum Leap, J. A. G., and many others. This interview took some work to get but Bellisario’s assistant at the time was a great help in me finally getting it.

Comic book writer extraordinaire J. M. DeMatteis has long been a favourite comic book writer for me. His greatest works between Marvel and DC Comics is his long runs on The Amazing Spider-Man and The Spectacular Spider-Man. He’s also one of the kindest and most generous professionals I’ve met in the business.

For a short time I worked for WizardWorld.com. It was a relatively easy job and was a lot of fun. I wrote short interviews with current comic book professionals and was paid (at the time) pretty good for the amount of work I had to do. Since it was online only, I printed ups some of the interviews I did, including Jim Lee, Phil Hester, Kevin Maguire, Chuck Dixon, Walt Simonson, and more.

I’ve long been into fitness training ever since I was a kid. So, writing articles on the subject felt like a natural for me. I sold four freelance articles over the years. Here are two of them, published in MuscleMag International and American Health & Fitness magazines.

These are all but a few of my professional works I’ve done over my career. I continue to write more scripts, short stories, and other pieces. Thanks for looking over my page.
