An agent for the arcane Society of Seekers lies dead.
An ancient artifact of immense importance has been stolen.
A mysterious door appears out of thin air.
A race against time through the Gaslamp-illuminated streets of Victorian London.
The honour of the Society of Seekers is on the line as a trio of agents are tasked with finding the magical head of a legendary king before the Blood Walkers can. However, rival factions and potential traitors put the entire mission in jeopardy.
From the world of The Witch’s Foundling, a new adventure of supernatural magic awaits!
At long last, I’ve sent my latest manuscript to my editor Rachel Walden at 1823 Revisions! I’ve been dropping hints and teasers about this novel here and in our newsletter for a few months now. I revealed how it will focus on the first supernatural case of Tobias Dahlrimple and Agnes MacGregor. This pair was introduced to readers as the mysterious tutors to young Sally Founder in The Witch’s Foundling. There was always more to their story than was appropriate for that particular novel. No matter how much background I had developed for them, I ultimately realized it didn’t have a place in Sally’s personal story. So, the Light Seekers series was born. It took me a long time to finalize my title for the book which I’ve also mentioned before. Dang it, though! I’m sticking with (drum roll please) –
The Case of the King’s Head!
That’s right. I kept the ‘working title’. Nothing else I came up with has resonated with me or, frankly, the story itself. Next, it’s working on the blurb for the book. First Draft …
“In the shadows of Victorian London, supernatural forces plot to seize power to further their schemes against humanity. The arcane Society of Seekers stands against them.
Since ancient days, the magical head of welsh King Bran has offered prophetic advice against evil for the Society of Seekers. Now, an agent is dead, the other, welsh attendants vanished – along the head of their king. Agent Graeme MacGregor is assigned to uncover the truth. Reluctantly, he accepts the help of his younger sister Agnes and inexperienced scholar, Tobias Dahlrimple. Through the back alleys of Victorian London to the fantastical halls in a mystical land, the trio race against time to return the king to the Society’s safekeeping or die trying.”
I hope this preliminary blurb gives you an idea of what to expect. Before they arrived at Briarstone Manor in The Witch’s Foundling, Tobias Dahlrimple and Agnes MacGregor began a life of adventure, magic and a little slow-burn romance.
There will be monsters, curses, battles and sorcery galore! I hope you’ll join them, and me, on this journey.
